Bruno Fernandes has sent a message to Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag ahead of the new Premier League season.

Ten Hag will take charge of United for the first time on July 12 when his side face Liverpool in a pre-season friendly. His first competitive game will come just under a month later when Ten Hag’s men kick off their campaign with Brighton’s visit to Old Trafford.

One of Ten Hag’s priorities this summer is to strengthen his midfield, with Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong heavily linked with a reunion with his former Ajax boss. With that in mind, and with the new season fast approaching, Fernandes has been working hard as he prepares for the 2022/23 campaign.

In footage shared by Fernandes’ personal trainer Fabio Cotovio on Instagram, Fernandes was seen being put through his paces. The Portuguese midfielder appeared to be feeling the burn during intense training as he looked to get fit before United returned to training.

Fernandes has had a better season than most United midfielders in 2021/22, scoring 10 goals and collecting 14 assists in 46 appearances.
