Job Summary: As National Account Manager, this role is ultimately responsible for growing sales of our highly award-winning beer portfolio, in targeted key accounts, including multiple Hispanic chains. This includes direct account responsibility for key accounts, securing commercials/features, new distribution and programming, direct reporting and working closely with the distributor network to ensure execution of all new distribution/programming.

What does the job consist of: Specifically, job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

  • Aggressively pursue the distribution of new key accounts
  • Use accounts to secure new releases, ads, and features, make timely pitches, and introduce new “limited release” beers
  • Develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with FW field teams and distribution chain sales staff
  • Develop relationships with store operations/management from targeted accounts to develop “2nd tier” relationships to win retail jump ball opportunities
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure execution of programming (execution of announcements/in-store sampling events/staff training events/etc.)
  • Oversee and work directly with a Channel Execution Manager to ensure keychain advertisements/programming/displays are executed and drive growth
  • Visit key account outlets to inspect programming execution and report results to key stakeholders
  • Travel to company sales meetings; participate in market blitzes in other territories and otherwise work with other FW team members to execute/achieve the channel’s sales plan
  • Complete necessary administrative reports and communications in a timely manner
  • Maintain all sales goals and personal budgets set for you and your territory
  • Other tasks assigned periodically by your manager

What you must have to apply:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five or more years of previous sales or key account management experience, preferably in the alcoholic beverage industry
  • Knowledge of all Firestone Walker beers, other craft beers and the craft beer community
  • Strong oral communication skills – Spanish speaking a plus
  • Strong persuasive skills – Ability to influence others’ decision-making or persuade others to change their minds or behavior
  • Analytical Skills – Experience using syndicated Nielsen/IRI data to leverage fact-based sales presentations
  • Active Listening – This is key to all sales presentations, understanding your goals can only be achieved by listening to account needs and responding to those needs
  • Excellent time management skills – Able to be proactive and take initiative
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills – Able to manage priorities and routine functions effectively and efficiently
  • Social Perceptivity – Being aware of other people’s reactions and understanding why they react the way they do
  • Negotiation – Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences
  • Leadership – 3-5 years of supervisory experience in direct management of employees

Other things you need:

  • Proficiency with personal/laptop computers and associated programs (Windows, Microsoft Office suite of programs)
  • Decision-making skills – Gather, evaluate and interpret relevant information and exercise good judgment
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, ability to drive to and from accounts continuously
  • Cicerone, or other strongly preferred beer certification
  • Must be available to work nights and weekends and work more than 40 hours per week; and lift and or move up to 50 pounds
  • MUST CURRENTLY RESIDE IN THE GREATER LOS ANGELES AREA
