Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford is selling his “fun and unique” shirts for a good cause.

Gearbox shared news from the auction (opens in a new tab) on his official Twitter account, with a link to nearly 50 personal Pitchford shirts, which you can bid on through September 9. The online auction lists the approximate value of each shirt at $400, but you can bid whatever you want because blind bidding means no one can see other people’s bids to determine their own.

“Gearbox fans may have noticed the loud shirts worn by our leader over the years,” read the studio’s tweet announcing the charity auction. “Now those shirts can be yours! Randy is auctioning off dozens of garments, with all proceeds funding a developer grant.”

Personally, there isn’t a video game studio on Earth whose CEO I admire so much that I want to wear one of their t-shirts, especially when the designs are… so loud. In all honesty though, it’s hard to knock a thing when his proceeds go to charity. Although in this case it is unclear exactly which charity will benefit from the proceeds; the ad simply says “a developer scholarship”. Curiously, the official site changes this language to a plural “scholarships”.

Could Gearbox scholarship programs (opens in a new tab) be beneficiaries of the auction? Digitization of “About” (opens in a new tab) and FAQs (opens in a new tab) the sections of the auction don’t reveal anything about the charity or charities involved, so that one is up in the air for now.

Either way, you have exactly one week to buy one of Pitchford’s, shall we say, plug-ugly shirts and send your money to charity.
