About the role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Manager: Industry Experience and Engagement is responsible for the development and management of national and international Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) and Industry Experience (IE) programs. ‘UniSA STEM and relationship management with work experience sites. This is a strategic management and engagement role ensuring site engagement supports continued and sustained growth of high quality WIL and IE opportunities in a complex regulatory environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Establish, develop and implement a strategic framework for stakeholder management for WIL and EI within STEM
  • Develop and deepen STEM’s relationship with industry to ensure various quality placement opportunities for students in their program
  • Contribute to student success by providing on-site visits and/or electronic contact with students and their supervisors, while students undertake WIL/IE
  • Collaborate with the General Manager, Program Services Manager(s) and the WIL team to develop, implement and continually improve procedures, processes and guidelines
  • Provide high-level strategic advice and regular reporting to Academic Governance Committees and the STEM Executive Group on professional experience and engagement

Essential skills and experience

  • Experience in creating new opportunities and managing strategic relationships and partnerships with external stakeholders to deliver measurable results
  • A successful track record of delivering quality customer-focused services and continuous improvement against strategic objectives in a complex matrix reporting organization
  • Experience in interpreting and applying legislation, accreditation requirements and policies in order to provide expert advice
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree combined with higher education work experience, or a combination of extensive experience in a higher education management/leadership role with complex external partnerships
