The description:

The Pratt Institute Office of Planning, Design, and Construction is seeking a Project Manager who will be an integral part of the team supporting the department’s overall mission, goals, and strategic initiatives. The Project Manager will be responsible for all phases of a capital improvement project. Each project begins with programming and close collaboration with the campus community. The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating and hiring design teams and contractors for a variety of capital projects at the Pratt Institute. The successful candidate will monitor the progress of all assigned projects ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget and within scope.

Reporting to the Director of Planning, Design and Construction, this role will be part of a small collaborative team and act as a liaison between Pratt Institute, its consultants and contractors. If you can demonstrate a proven track record in the successful and timely completion of design and construction projects, have the ability to understand, interpret and evaluate construction documents, and can demonstrate the ability to perform multiple tasks at once in a wide variety of missions in a quick time. fast-paced environment, then this position could be for you!

On a typical day, you will:

  • Interview Pratt voters to determine scope
  • Produce autocad drawings for programming, fit testing and minor renovation projects
  • Manage design teams during the design phase of the project
  • Create tenders for contractor selection, including project scope, cost estimation, and scheduling
  • Provide project coordination and construction supervision on behalf of the planning, design and construction department
  • Produce and deliver budgets, reports, presentations and correspondence as required


Education: Degree in architecture or related profession.

Live: At least five years of relevant experience in design and construction project management; administer budgets, plan and oversee projects. Experience with Autocad is required and experience with Revit is a plus.

Skills: Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and superior organizational skills. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
