PSV manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has opened up on Cody Gakpo’s future amid interest from Manchester United.

Gakpo has been heavily linked with a move away from PSV this summer. The Dutch striker has had an impressive few years at PSV but a move could be on the cards with Manchester United showing particular interest.

According ED.NLGakpo has already agreed personal terms with Manchester United, but the two clubs are yet to finalize a deal.

Now PSV coach and former Manchester United striker Van Nistelrooy has spoken out on Gakpo’s future.

“I think I’m very relaxed about the situation. There have been rumors about him since the start of the season almost eight weeks ago. And we haven’t seen Cody change his behavior so far,” Gakpo said, relayed by Subway.

The main thing for Van Nistelrooy is that Gakpo remains professional throughout the transfer window. If he refuses to play or train, the Dutch manager will have a problem, but Gakpo seems to continue his football in an ideal way.

“There is no if or what if. He’s a PSV player until further notice,” added Van Nistelrooy.

The PSV manager didn’t mention any specific links with Manchester United, or if any talks were ongoing between the two clubs, but this information is often above the manager of clubs like PSV and handled by the director of football.
